They were wrong!
Matthew 4:1-10
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered.
3And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
It's to late to try and plug the holes folks, to put our hopes in men and women, we have lived our lives oblivious to God and His Word.
Now we are being handed over, we will soon be completely under the New World Order.
We are fast approaching a One World currency, One World government, One World education system, and One World religion. NOW THAT'S UNITY FER YA!
Those within the church who are still clamoring to save America, stop and take heed of the Word of God, YOU CAN'T SAVE AMERICA, or the world. God said, "Choose Ye This Day Whom You will serve" and America and the world made their choice a long time ago, they chose to turn their backs on God in favor of creating their own earthly kingdoms. It is written how it is to be in the last days, read the book of Revelation, blessed is he who reads it.
To those who believe your going to be raptured out any second, you'd best regroup and rethink that theory!
Church of Jesus Christ, in America we are about to suffer persecution, hold onto Jesus, He is our only hope. OH, and saints, look up, keep your eye single, your redemption draws nigh. "Be thou faithful unto death and you shall recive a crown of life."
He shall be with you even until the end of the world. Preach the gospel while you still have the time.
Matthew 28:19-20
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

We were one nation, that claimed to be under God. Now we are a nation that is acting like we are one nation above God! Dangerous ground to be on. I am trying to forget nationalities, immigration issues, politics and such. Everything is so corrupt, iniquity abounds, and my one main objective is to NOT let my love for Christ grow cold. We are between a rock and a hard place in America and I pray that this will bring many into the Kingdom of God. I long for the day when we will be one world under the rulership of Jesus the Messiah!

After reading your post I looked up the meaning of the word tempt. God became so angry with the Children of Israel in the Wilderness journey that He sent firey serpents to bit and kill many of them for tempting Him. My interpretation of the word as it was used by Christ and Moses is almost a taunt of God; in other words, "we know you can do this...part the sea, show us if You can do this!!
I have been guilty of this also. I remind God of a prayer of mine He answered in the past, then I ask Him, sometimes knowingly, other times by my actions, can you do this for me also? Kind of RIGHT NOW, GOD!
I am so thankful of what Christ did for us on the cross; the mercy He brought for us, the grace, His tenderness and forgiveness for my arrogance and stupidy often times. LORD, I ask forgiveness of being guilty of the same thing the Children of Israel were punished severly for doing.
