2 Timothy 3:1-8
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
The word shall here means it is an absolute, it means it is inevitable.
2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
We live in the most self centered generation that has ever been. We even have pastors teaching their congregations how to better esteem themselves.
While the word tells us to die to ourselves daily, and tells us to hold others in higher regard, and be concerned with promoting others rather than ourselves.
The word tells us to let another's lips praise us and not our own. We are not to be self promoters. We are not to sound a trumpet before ourselves as we go about doing good in Jesus name. We are not to seek the praises of men. We are to do good hoping for nothing in return.
We have a generation that is never satisfied, but covets more, and more, and it is the pastors in many cases that set the example. People are not thankful as they should be, and they have become unholy in the process.
3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
I have never witnessed the lack of natural affection (even between parents and children), the gossip and the backbiting and attack on the saints to such a degree, as I am witnessing it these days.
This lack of affection stems from self love. It stems from a unwillingness to put others before self. Lies false accusations and viciousness are the order of the day between saint and sinner alike. How the righteous are hated and maligned and shunned, in place of those who will tickle the ears, and or praise and agree with the wicked, those who have not received the love of the truth.
I have not seen a day the likes of these days we now live in. I know of so many dreadful situations, where the saints are being tried by the most difficult of circumstances as the devil rages at them in the attempt to steal their faith.
4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
The extent of the covetousness amongst the so called christian community breaks my heart, the snobbery amongst the haves over the have not so much...it is an abomination to God. Mammon has become the god of the hour. We are not to think highly of ourselves, but we are to remember from whence we have been delivered, lest we to perish. Pleasure is the order of the day, and how to entertain the masses, with a christian twist of course.

Such a form of godliness amongst those above mentioned is just that "a form" it is a pretencion and is without the Holy Spirit, run from such saints, run. I have witnessed people who hold in high esteem some of todays false preachers and when confronted with the truth of the false teachings, they just shrug and hold tight to their idol, they prefer a lie over the truth.
6For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
Those who would have you become just another member of the christian social club, and teach you covetousness, and other ungodly lusts, that lead you to death, are running themselves through with many an arrow, for the love of money is the root of all evil. We are not to love the world or the things of the world. Any one who tells you that you can get to much of Jesus, flee from them.
7Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Saints it does not matter how many Sunday school classes, and how many church services you sit through,or how many times a year you read through your Bible...It doesnt matter how many books you pen, how large the following you have, if your heart is not sold out to Jesus Christ and His Truth and will 100%, and the Fruit of the Holy Spirit is not at work in your life you are nothing but a sounding brass and a tinkling symbol. Many seek the gifts of the Holy Spirit, but if the fruit of the Holy Spirit is not active in your life, you can loose your soul.
8Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
Saints if you do not love and desire the whole Truth of God, no matter the personal cost to you, then you are also reprobates, and you shall be turned over to believe a lie and be dammed.
Saints many a pastor is not warning his flock of the day and hour in which we are living, these are the last days saints, Christ Jesus our Lord is soon to come. Israel is God's time clock for the last days events, be vigilant saints and look up for your redemption draweth near, and no this is not speaking of a pre-tribulation rapture, if that is what your looking for your looking for the wrong event.

Words of truth, sister! I am glad that you made mention of the fruit of the Spirit - this is the evidence of His indwelling, the character of Christ in us, not outward manifestations of signs and wonders, all of which can be false. I am reminded of Proverbs 30:11-15, which I am sure prophetically speaks of our present generation.
