A dear sister, took time to pour out her heart in a comment, on the last blog. She, like many, was incensed by Pat Robertson's remarks in regards to the cause of the disaster in Haiti.
I want to respond for all:
The Lord will move for all those who seek Him.
The people of the Lord, will also have many an opportunity, to minister to the lost, injured and the dying in Haiti, because God is a God of Mercy and Grace.
But lest we forget -God is angry with the wicked every day.
It is He who moves the earth. It is God who causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust...It is He who rules in the affairs of men, and sets up Kings and brings them down!
God has shown His sovereignty in this, and it is a message to all of us...
San Francisco may be the next great quake-no this is not a prophecy!!!
New Orleans, was a city filled with wickedness to it's core...God Moved the ocean to drown her...
God also worked miracles in the midst of chaos...because God is Good and God is Faithful. '
God sent a message! But have the people of this country heard it?
God sent a message on 9/11 when he removed the hedge he had around America, but did the people hear?
Yes...for a very short season, but how quickly this country returned to its sins and its covetousness.
God will continue to allow disaster and tragedy in countries and in lives, because unfortunately for some, that is the only thing that gets their attention, the only thing that jogs them, the only thing that will bring them to their knees. The only thing that will cause them see they have a need for God.
Do we have compassion for all the people affected by tragedy and disaster?-of course, did not God have compassion on us when we were in sin? Has God not shown His great Mercy to each of us?
I thank God, for allowing me to come to the end of myself in 1980, and look up and see HIM. I thank Him for every hard place He has brought me to, that I may cling ever closer to Him. I pray many in Haiti will do the same.
I also pray that many in the "church" in America will repent, and turn from their wicked ways.
I also pray that yet many who are lost in America will come to know God, for He alone is Good and worthy of our Praise!!!!
God brings His judgment that He might show His Mercy. See- Nehemiah 9

Sorry, but I disagree. The cross and God's grace has dealt with sin. Being in the time of grace changes how God deals with lost men in these days...until the White Throne. I have been to Haiti many times and the Christian church there is about 40% of the population and growing. Either God dealt with sin "once for all" at the cross or he didn't. You can't have it both ways. Sorry, but I disagree.
We respect the views of others Mike, thank you for taking the time to leave your view.

Sister Helen, I agree with your conclusions. The earth quaking and shaking, the wars and rumors of wars, the death, famine and disease that are increasing upon the earth are also " post cross".
God judged Israel repeatedly for the lack of respect, worship and their turning to other gods. The history of Haiti is not good. There is a reason they are the most depressed and oppressed of nations in this hemisphere.
There are Believers there; operating amidst much spiritual darkness. The leaders of Haiti, the leaders of the nations can influence how God deals with a nation also.
In that regard, I fear for the nation we live in. Having a President that supports abortion, gay rights, and Islamic traditions cannot but bring judgment here. I also am no prophet, but I can say with confidence that California will probably be next in line for an event from the heavens.
God is in control. HE DOES JUDGE on an individual basis, a local basis and a national basis. He controls events on this planet.
If there is peace in a city, it is because of Him, if there is war and calamity, HE ALLOWED IT.
To hide or try to cover up this truth does God a disservice. Until people are honest with the world, there is no hope of redemption. Pat Roberton was right on with this one. We may be next...
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging." Psalm 46:1-3
Question: "Is Haiti the most sinful country of all the countries of the world?"
Biblical Response: Luke 13:1 - There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answered and said to them, "Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, becuse they suffered such things? "I tell you no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. 4 "Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem" 5 "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish."
Thanks for leaving your thoughts dear sister Diana!
Semantics gets in the way of our words. Thank God for His Word! Jesus said: "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you no! But unless you repent you too will all perish. Or the eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them, do you think that they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish." Luke 13
Jesus' work on the cross was indeed sufficient. He said "It is finished" And He does not change. What we have called 'blessing' (prosperity) is the least of blessings, and always preceeded calamity, where it has not brought repentance. The whole of the Old Testiment shows us this. We are indeed under grace, until the time of Jacob's trouble, when the wrath will be poured out- the message is, not that judgement is here now, but that it IS coming- therefore- repent! Oh, how I long that the Body of Christ would take a biblical view of suffering, and understand that suffering is not the judgement of God, but rather IT IS mercy! "If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?" Sometimes we are salt when we should be light! God, grant us wisdom.
Randy, I agree with you, except for the part about Pat Robertson. What he said about a pact with the devil is ludicrous. There is no proof that such a thing occurred. One of the reasons these people are in spiritual darkness is because of the Roman Catholic Church which allows them to stay in the church and practice their voodoo.
