Do Not Sound A Trumpet Before You Saints!

Saint of God do you do what you do for the Lord to be seen of men, to obtain the praises of men? Or do you do what you do for the Lord to be seen of Him alone, with no thought of your reward?

If you receive your acclamation and rewards here on earth, you will have none in heaven.
Is it important to you that people know what you do for the Lord?
Do you constantly feel the need to tell others of your work or your financial giving for the Lord?
These things ought not to be saints of God, yet I have seen it with some.

The word of God says don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Read Matthew 6:1-7 saints and refresh your mind on these things.

There are even Pastors that behave in this manner, they are under the mistaken idea that the Word of God doesn't apply to them, they are wrong. There are pastors who hold themselves up above the flock, these things ought not to be saints. We are all a part of the same body, though each may have a different function, we all have need of one another. We are but brothers and sisters in the Lord, there is but one shepherd and we are all His sheep.

There are varying positions to be filled in the body, pastors, teachers, prophets, etc, but we are all equal to God. These positions do not make us superior to our fellow saints. In fact the one who desires to be greatest amongst us is to be the servant of all.

There are many on this earth who are so accustomed to controlling the body of Christ, that they have the mistaken idea that they will be helping God run things in Heaven. They shall be sadly disappointed when they find they are on crumb sweeping detail. The high seats are to the most lowly amongst us, those who have been willing to crucify themselves daily for the cause of Christ, those who do not glory in themselves, those who prefer others over themselves. Those who do not look upon their fellow saints and say, “Oh I am so glad I am more righteous than that one, and know more than that one, and do more than that one." These things are a stench in the nostrils of God saints.

There are those who don’t want to be joined in ministry with another, because they desire all the glory and praise for themselves, these things ought not to be saints. There is not one greater than the other saints, this is a deception of the devil.

The spirit of control is as the spirit of witchcraft. Some desire to control the saints of God, this should not be so. Some are teaching the saints of God to look to them in time of trouble instead of looking to the Lord. Some are teaching the flock to depend on them in time of trouble instead of depending of God.
Some love the greetings in the market place and to be called of men “Pastor, pastor”…There is but one true shepherd of the flock and that is our Lord Jesus Christ. There are some who love to be on the church platform, separated from the rest of the flock. We are not to puff ourselves up saints, and wear our righteousness externally as a badge of holiness. It is our heart that God sees.
Jesus said He was a friend who sticks closer than a brother, He does not separate Himself from His flock, and He is somebody.

If a man or a woman thinks themselves to be something they are deceiving them selves saints. Let us remember from whence we came, none of us was born righteous, it is Christ that makes us righteous, when His righteousness is applied to us by the Father. Just because God chooses one or another to be in a position of leadership, or gives a certain gift of the Holy Spirit to one or another, does not mean that person is superior to another.
Let another’s lips praise you saint of God and not your own.

Galatians 6:3
For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

The thing with the Parisees saints was they looked righteous, outwardly they looked devoutly religious. They were great at preaching righteousness to the people, but as for applying the Truth to themselves, well they believed themselves to be above that.

2 Peter 1:5-9
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Proverbs 27:2

Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.

Matthew 23:

1Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,

2Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat:

3All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

4For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

5But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

6And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

7And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

8But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

9And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

10Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

11But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

12And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Saints if you read the above scripture in the light of a lot of today's pastors and saints alike, your eyes will be opened.
A lot of today's pastors (not all) think they are above the Word of God, that the Word of Truth doesn't apply to them, they believe themselves to be something, when saints they are nothing. They in essence are like a lot of Hollywood celebrities today, they are deceived by their controlling egos, and believe their own publicity. They have become puffed up by the acclaim of the people who hold them in high esteem.
We not only need to pray for each other saints, we need to pray for those who are in the positions of leadership in the church, for they shall be held accountable and their judge will be the Word that they refuse to pay heed to.
Saints don't look to your pastor as your all in all, look to Christ as your all in all. Men and women will let you down, they are not above you in the Lords eyes, just their own.
A true pastor is your fellow sheep, your fellow brother or sister in the Lord entrusted with a position of leadership.
Philippians 2:3-4
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

I noticed a pattern amongst pastors from a church group I used to attend. I likened it to the 'cycle of abuse', in that, the pastor would point out the person's faults, tearing them down and 'counselling' them. This made the poor, debased person then dependent upon the pastor as the only one who could build them up. Power and control. The pastors and elders are warned not to exercise this type of control in the church by Paul, but power is craved by natural man, and sadly there are many unsaved men leading the sheep (to the slaughterhouse). I agree with you strongly, sis!
