The Truth About The Battle For Israel

Jerusalem, God's City!

Zechariah 12:1-11
The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
2Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
3And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
4In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.
5And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.
6In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
7The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.
8In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.
9And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
10And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
11In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.

Sister Helen,
While reading the Scripture regarding Jerusalem, I began to think about the prophecies given hundreds of years before Christ came the first time. He wept over the city because they missed the time of their visitation. He only came once; and they were totally unaware, or rejected Him for who He was.

In this context, in Scripture, there is always, in my opinion, a mirror of an event and it is usually repeated time and again. Take Joseph being sold into slavery in Egypt, rejected by his brothers, sold for a few coins to traders heading for Egypt. A type of Christ; just for one example.

Israel missed her time. Will what is called the church today miss her time also? Is the church more important in God's eyes than Israel was 2000 years ago?

But we have the promises of God for a ressurection, some may say. The Prophets of God in Israel gave many promises of the coming Messiah also, and they missed it.

This thought puts a great consernation in my heart that I, and my family be ready, counted worthy, and that we not get so comfortable in our personal beliefs of what is going to happen just because "that is the way I was taught...."

We need to touch base with God on a daily basis and remind God of His promises to those who search Him out that we will come through this fire like the 3 Hebrew children, raise up out of the lions den as did Daniel, go through our wilderness experience as did Moses and Paul because this is where our faith is tested and where the refining from God takes place.

May we all be counted worthy, so that on that great day, we can, as did Lazarus, walk out of the grave of this human body and cast off the grave clothes that are smothering us at times. Only this time, once and for all, we will receive a glorious body likened unto His!

And, thank you for your technical assistance regarding posting and pasting. My previous experience with posting is digging a hole in the yard and planting a 4x4 for a fence post; and regarding pasting, it is putting an extra layer of icing on my bagel! Thank you!

Correct me if I am wrong randy, but are you telling us we need to remind God of His promise?
