I discovered the following quote on "Worthy Christian News"
Lytta from the Middle East Says: January 21st, 2009 at 11:27 pm:
I am glad brother Rick mentioned the name of Jesus. However, what concerned me most was how he addressed Him as “….Jesus, the one who changed my life?” Jesus is not only the one, he changed Rick’s life, Jesus is the one and only one who came to change the WORLD. Or was he trying to be politically correct or was he trying to appease those who are anti Christ?
Why not be bold enough and say the Truth "In the Name of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of The Almighty God.” And why did he call Him Esa?

Esa is just a prophet, a good man in the eyes of the Islam religion.
Esa is not the Son of God as islam does not believe God had a son at all.
Neither do they believe that Jesus was ever crucified.
Besides, why did Rick feel compelled to mention the name Esa in the first place?
Was he trying to have some kind of comradery with the Moslem terrorists who recently passed a new law to punish Christians and Jews by crucification?
If Rick believes that Esa is the one who changed his life, he is in deep trouble. Because Esa is not The Jesus who died on the cross on his behalf. Couldn't he have called him, Lord of Lords, Lord God of Hosts, Lord God of Israel, King of kings and many other deserving names, instead of Esa?
I guess not! And by the way,why did he need to call Jesus in Spanish? What was the purpose, Mr.Purpose driven author? As if the Spanish speaking Christians will have a problem identifying Jesus if he just called Him, Jesus.

I am so disappointed and ashamed of how Rick portrayed our Lord and Savior,Jesus The Christ. Rick Warren wasted a huge opportunity to witness to a global audience and I think that was a sell out of the Spirit! End Quote (highlites mine).

Rick, you never let us down with your luke warm brand of Christianity...Don't you know that you are putting the Christ, that you say you know, to an open shame when you lump Him in with the false Jesus of Isalam...wake up before your soul is required of you...you can not be a friend of the world and a friend of God! Choose you this day who you will serve!

Rick of the wide road is loved by so many ,his tolerance of sin is the opposite of love.
It is the false way.
Blessed are you when you are hated and reviled for my names sake.
The Jesus who said this was hated because He was holy ands pure and without spot or blemish and the world that chooses to abide in darkness will always hate this Jesus........and so the Ricks have to manufacture another false jesus acceptable to the masses.
Do you think that perhaps Rick Warren merely used "Esa" for the same reason that he used "Jesus" in Spanish - in order to relate to those in America who are Muslim?
You are right - to the Muslims, Esa is just a prophet and a good man. So imagine the surprise of a Muslim when they heard that Esa was defined as someone who brought salvation to the man who was praying!
I didn't see this as an endorsement of universalism; rather, I saw it as recognizing the fact that this is a diverse nation, and Mr. Warren chose to acknowledge that so that he would be able to reach those who have distorted views of our Savior.
Cheers,
Brendan

We all see things differently Brendan, we must all pray for discernment, for we are living in a very deceptive time..and if we do not have a love for God, and a love for His Word of Truth, we will be turned over to believe a lie and be damned..."If it were possible the very elect of God will be deceived."
OH and PS Brendan...I thought the young lady from the middle east was very perceptive in her commentary..I just tacked my 5cents worth on the end..May the Lord lead you into all His Truth and give you great discernement!
