Woe Unto Those Who Take Council But Not Of Me Saith The Lord!

No matter how wicked, vicious and evil, no matter how unthankful, unholy, unloving, and unforgiving, those around us may become, no matter how difficult and stressful our lives may get, no matter how much our hearts may break at what is happening in this hour, we must not loose our confidence in the Holy One of Israel.
No matter how much Satan opposes us, and seeks to oppress us, and steal our faith, we must stand confident in the fact that God is able to do all things, and do them well. We must remember our lives are not about enjoyment but endurance.

God has Himself moved through mysterous ways over the ages to preserve His Word for us, that we may know the day and the hour in which we are living, and the way in which we are to walk.

Isaiah 30:1-3
1. Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

Many today run to councilors for comfort, reassurance and instruction, instead of first seeking God. Many do not deem Him able to solve their problems. They seek out those who will tell them what they want to hear, not what they need to hear. They seek those who will medicate them out of their misery.

If we are to take council it must be of one whom we know will council us from the Truth of The Word of God.

Those who choose not to seek God, take shelter and comfort and the source of their joy through ungodly means. They neglect seeking the covering of the Holy Spirit, who is able to give us a supernatural covering to combat all the arrows that Satan lobs our way. The covering of the Holy Spirit is able to keep us calm in the midst of the storm, to give us peace that passes all understanding when others are falling apart.

2. That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

We are not to trust in those of the world, or the government, or the world system, to come to our aid, rather than seeking and trusting God to strengthen and provide for us.

3. Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

Governments shall fail, as we see all around us now, and the government which many millions have put there trust in here shall fall, but God will never fail.

Isaiah was told to write down what God was telling him because it was not just to be applied to those of his time, but for the time yet to come for ever and ever.

Isaiah 30:8-16
8. Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
9. That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:
10. Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
11. Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

Again the Lord speaks of the rebellious who turn out of the narrow path who refuse the council of The Most High God. Those who do not want to hear the Word of the Lord, those who prefer to hear what they want to hear.

12. Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:

Those who trust in their own fleshly lusts, and who choose to stay bound by the lies of this world and put their trust in the arm of the flesh, shall fail!
Sin brings oppression and perverseness.....turning from God and His truth brings oppression and perverseness...Those bound by opression, often themselves become oppressors.

13. Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.
14. And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters’ vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.

Ye who take council but that not of the Lord, He shall break you like he would a piece of pottery. Those who are not willing to trivail before God until He moves in their lives, will have time for travailing when it is to late......

15. For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
16. But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.

All Ye who refuse the council of the Lord shall be consumed. Because you have refused Him, He has put a bridle in your jaws and He is causing you to err.

God is controlling nations, and stirring them to war. He who created all things is angry, and is about to sift the wicked nations, His tongue is a devouring fire.
