Are We To Warn The Wicked Amongst Us?

God spoke to Ezekiel and gave him instruction To Warn the Wicked Amongst God's People:

Ezekiel 3:17-21

17. Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

18. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

19. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

20. Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

21. Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

Is this a charge given exclusively to Ezekiel or is it relevant for us in the body today?

If we see someone on the broad path, are we in love (with our own hearts clean before God) to give them warning?

Are we to reach out in love to those amongst us who are in sin and error, or just turn our backs?

Are we to share the whole truth of the Word of God with people, or are we to hide that which they might find offensive?

Are we to compromise the truth in order to be accepted by man?

Jude 1:21-23

21. Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

22. And of some have compassion, making a difference:

23. And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

1 Corinthians 5:11-13

11. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

12. For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

13. But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Luke 6:42

Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.

1 Corinthians 6:2-3

2.Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

3Know ye not that we shall judge angels?

Perhaps it is because there is so much sin and compromise in the lives of those in the body of Christ today, that they fear exposing sin in the lives of others, least they themselves be judged. It is a dangerous time that we are living saints of God, may we cleanse our hearts and purify our minds that we may be found worthy of Jesus Christ our Lord.
