Is God Soverign In The Affairs of Men?

This blog is inspired by a comment received today on my "Sarah Palin-Queen Esther?" blog from 10/08/08.

Saints I ask you does God sit hopelessly in Heaven, impotent, bewailing the situations on the earth, helpless to do anything about it, powerless to any longer deal with the hearts and affairs of men?

Does He wring his hands in despair depending solely upon the saints of God to get things accomplished on His behalf?

Is God wringing His hands over Obama being our President?

Does He feel like its all our fault and He is now powerless?

Does He place the blame on the votes cast, or not cast on the part of the church for Obamas Presidency?

Honey, we could have all cast 50 votes each, against Obama, but if God did not have a purpose for Obama being in power believe me, he would not have his current position.
Listen saints, we need to make up our minds, is God all powerful in the affairs of men...or he is completely impotent?...simple as that!

What does the Word of God say about the Sovereignty of God?

Daniel 2:20-22
20. Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
21.And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
22. He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

Daniel 4:17
17.This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

Daniel 4:25 -This was during the time God dealt with King Nebuchadnezzar
That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

Saints has God changed the way He does things? ...NO

Daniel 4:35
And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

Imagine that- God doing His will among the inhabitants of the earth- independantly of the "Church"

We pray, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven” but do all believe what they pray, do people want their own will or Gods to be done?

Proverbs 21:1
The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD
, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

Romans 9:17-28
17. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might show my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
18. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
19. Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
20. Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
21. Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

My goodness-same God-unchanged-still in control!

God is sovereign! He has given this nation into the hands of the one He has chosen, in spite of us saints, His will, has prevailed. God is bringing us to a time of mourning and repentance, and His desire is to turn our hearts wholy to Him.

One of these days He will give the whole world into the hands of the Anti-Christ, the one world leader. Saints you can pray until your blue in the face, but it shall come to pass, because it is His will and it is written.

As children of God we have one duty: To love God with all our heart, mind and soul and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

If we love God we will keep His commandments, we will trust Him, we will acknowledge that He is in control, and we will do His will. …amen

If you believe like some, that Obama is the Messiah, and you just love him, remember that as a dear friend told me, “They didn’t crucify Jesus because they liked Him” also when the whole world loves you, and speaks well of you...be afraid be very afraid.

Many, like some of todays christians still do, expected Jesus to take over the government.

The Jews were looking for a king who would release them from the oppression of the Romans. That is the same thing the church is looking for today, they want to take over the government and legeslate righteousness. They want to keep their prosperity and their lifestyle, they just want to keep doing things their way, and they want the world to at least have a form of godliness...listen saints the law couldn't keep people from sinning, and governements legeslating righteousness cant keep people from sin.

The scribes and the Pharisees didn’t want to be told that it was their hearts that needed to be cleaned up. They wanted to keep living the religious lives they lived, yet be free of their Roman oppressors.
Jesus was preaching the kingdom of God, and they were interested in an earthly kingdom.

He was offering them freedom from sin, but they weren’t willing to humble themselves before God, they were satisfied with their form of godliness.

Jesus was trying to teach them they could have freedom in Him in spite of their oppressors, but they didn’t want to hear that, so they killed the one who had come to set them free, and give them eternal life.

The following is a quote from the late Corrie Ten Boom-1974
"Sometimes I get frightened as I read the Bible, and as I look in this world and see all of the tribulation and persecution promised by the Bible coming true. Now I can tell you, though, if you too are afraid, that I have just read the last pages. I can now come to shouting "Hallelujah! Hallelujah!" for I have found where it is written that Jesus said, "He that overcometh shall inherit all things: and I will be His God, and he shall be My son." This is the future and hope of this world. Not that the world will survive – but that we shall be overcomers in the midst of a dying world."

Saints we can't put off the tribulation, just as we couldn't put who we desired in office, but we can trust our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to see us through it all. He is our hope not any worldly leader....Amen..He who endures to the end shall be saved.

Amen Sister Helen!
God rules in the affairs of mankind. We can not, nor will we understand all of His ways and purposes until we get to heaven.
We can take great comfort in the fact that if He even sees when a sparrow falls to the ground, surely, He sees everything His children go through. He is faithful til the end.

Dear sister Helen, reading your blog made me think of this. God does not need us we need Him!

Acts 17:24
God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

Acts 17:25
Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

Psalms 8:4
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

God wouldn't even ask me for a sandwich if He were hungry. He doesn't need me for the most minute thing. God doesn't need me-YET He stretches out His beautiful hand to me through His only begotten Son sacrificed for me.
This leads me to meditate on Psalm 8:4. I literally cried when I got a hold of this verse. It is amazing to me that the Lord God is even mindful of this dusty frame. Why would He even bother to think about me? Why would He leave His glory to die on a Roman cross for me while I was yet a vile, wicked sinner who rejected Him? Why?

God made us for His pleasure, not because He needed us. He made man in all good intention and kindness.

Revelation 4:11
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

God hasn't changed, He still wants the pleasure of our fellowship and love. He made us in His very own image. Love of all loves! Lovingly crafted in His own image. He made countless worlds for our pleasure. But that was not good enough for us. For some of us, it still ain't good enough.
