The Five Wise and The Five Foolish Virgins

I thought this picture was so cool...it is an oil lamp made out of a rock..to me it speaks volumes for the child of God..because we can not be full of the oil of the Spirit except we abide in the rock...who is our firm and solid foundation...Jesus Christ!

Matthew 25:11-12
Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4. But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

The foolish virgins were lacking…their lights were not able to shine; they had left their first love…they had turned backward...the Holy Spirit was not ruling them their flesh was...

9. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Matthew 7:21-27
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

It is not enough to say we love God, we must do His will. If we love Him we will keep His commandments.

22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Matthew 13:41-43
41. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42. And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

If we do not count Him Worthy of our all now, then He wont count us worthy when He comes.

Matthew 23:27-28
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
28. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

The scribes and the Pharisees, knew the Word better than most, they used it to sway and control the masses, they appeared to men to be righteous and children of God....yet they were dead in their sin. Man looks on the outward appearance, God looks upon the heart, and knows it, nothing is hidden from Him.

Matthew 24:12-13
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Hebrews 1:9-This is Speaking of Jesus-I recomend you read all of this chapter it is wonderful:
Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

This same oil of gladness is poured out upon all who love His appearing, and Love His Truth, and those who seek daily to walk in His ways.
May all those who love Him be filled with the oil of His Spirit.

Romans 6:12-13
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Romans 6:19
I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

May we always be willling to yeild ourselves unto God for the perfecting of our souls. May we seek to purify our hearts and minds and bring our bodies into subjection to God. May we exhort one another daily...

The oil of joy and gladness! Amen to that: may we always be willing to yield ourselves. (The picture is lovely).
