This was a word the Lord put on my heart through the night:
Saints of God if you were anything like me before you were saved, you viewed Charity as charitable benevolence, the giving of your money or yourselve to assist those less fortunate.
After I was saved however, I learned what God means when He speaks of His children having need of Charity.
1 Corinthians 13
1.Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5. Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6. Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7. Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
10. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11.When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
1 Corinthians 16:14
14. Let all your things be done with charity.
Colossians 3:12-17
12. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13. Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
If we all do these things saints, we shall dwell in the peace and love of the Lord Jesus Christ. We all fall short of fulfulling the Lords perfect Will in our lives at times. So let us be kind, tenderhearted and forgiving toward one another always, manifesting the love of God, knowing that we also require the Mercy of the Lord. Also remembering to whom it is that we shall all answer to, in the end of all things.
1 Peter 4:7-8
8. And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
God bless you all saints, may you all gain some encouragement and strength from these Words.
