I was reading today in
If in the midst of your religious ceremonies your pet dog should get caught on a limb, and begin to strangle himself, would you stop your ceremonies and rush to loose you dog? Or would your compassion's toward your animal be sufficient to draw your attention away from your ceremony?
If one comes amongst you who has a need or who is in bondage, will you not stop your religious ceremonies to extend compassion to that one in need? Will you be willing to trivail in prayer with those in need, or will you continue with your traditions and give them a card to see some counselor after the service is over?
What is more important to God, your sacrifices or your compassion's?
I have been in church services where their ceremonies are set, and when there is a need, it has to wait in line until the ceremonies are over…what does this say of the church?
We have become so lost in our religiosity that we have lost our compassion's….we have become like the Pharisees…we have our ceremonies, we have our order, and we leave the will of God out of our order…and in so doing there is no compassion extended to His sheep. The power of God does not move because we are lost in our religiosity. We have only a form of Godliness.
Zechariah 7:8-13
8.And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying,
9.Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassions every man to his brother:
10. And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
11. But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.
12. Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.
13. Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:
Saints of God if we require the Lords compassion's, and we do and we will, then let us extend compassion one to another. God prefers obedience over sacrifice!
We serve a Righteous and a Just God!
Do you have time for those for whom Jesus Christ gave His Life?
